“Design Thinking for Social Good”
Original title (Turkish): “Sosyal Fayda İçin Tasarım Odaklı Düşünce”
About
Driven by the instinct to “wonder how the universe works,” Göksel Gürsel studied Physics at Uludağ University, and throughout his university years took part in many national and international conferences and summer schools on Particle Physics and Cosmology and served on their organizing committees. In 2008 he spoke as the “Youngest Speaker” at the Naturel Body, Mind and Spirit Health Festival, attended by world-renowned experts in their fields, on how thought shapes our lives. He studied Leadership, Creativity and the Science of Success. In 2009 he designed the corporate identity of SOGLA, the Social Entrepreneur Young Leaders Academy, which won the World Bank’s “Turkey’s Creative Development Idea” award. Known as “the Innovator” in many of the institutions and organizations he has been part of, Göksel Gürsel has led innovation processes in many projects he believes in. Uniting Social Entrepreneurship, Design, Technology and Science, which he researched and worked on for years, under the umbrella of “Design Thinking,” Göksel Gürsel chairs SOGLA, designing systems, service models, trainings and business models centered on nature and people. He aims to share Design Thinking with young social entrepreneurs in Anatolia and to integrate this approach into institutions and education systems.
