Is this really TEDx?
On our blog, we try to help you get at least your monthly dose of TED or TEDx talks. Of course, not every TEDx talk is about space, microbiology or how to end famine...
1- The person you really need to marry | The person you need to marry | Tracy McMillan | TEDxOlympicBlvdWomen
© TED · YouTube ↗Tracy McMillan has written for television series such as Mad Men and United States of Tara, and based on her much-talked-about 2011 blog post in the Huffington Post she wrote the novel Why You're Not Married....Yet (no Turkish edition yet). She is the mother of a 16-year-old son and lives in Los Angeles. In this talk, McMillan answers the question: "Who is the right person to marry in order to have a successful relationship? (Yourself)"
2- Why I stopped watching porn | Why I stopped watching porn | Ran Gavrieli | TEDxJaffa
As you can tell from the title, it's not a typical TED or TEDx talk. The speaker, Ran, researches gender at Tel Aviv University and, along the way, works with young people and adults across the country. Ran also writes and teaches about safe sex and the cultural problems caused by porn.

Contrary to popular belief, TED and TEDx talks aren't made up only of intellectualism or purely didactic content. This talk is one of the most entertaining TEDx talks. But there's actually a message behind it too...

This talk, titled "Looks aren't everything. Believe me, I'm a model." on TED.com, was also, up to the year it was given (2012), the only talk in which the speaker changed her outfit on stage. A line from her talk: "Image is powerful, but image is also superficial."

One of the things we don't need these days is waste. Lauren comes out for her talk with a jar she has brought with her. Nothing unusual so far. But once we learn that the jar contains all the trash Lauren has produced over 3 years, we start looking at the story from a different angle.
