What Is TEDx?

Ahmet Aslıyüce

Ever since TED Talks began, countless people, encouraged by the slogan "Ideas worth spreading", have shared their thoughts and ideas with us. Most of us have listened to a TED talk before and probably taken something away from it. But do we actually know what TED, which is an acronym, stands for? With three different TED talks we've picked for you, you can learn which three words TED stands for in a way you'll never forget.

T for Technology,

As technology advances, the job descriptions we know are changing and the need for people in production is shrinking. We hear from Andrew McAfee about what kinds of jobs people will do in the future and what awaits us.

E for Entertainment,

If you've ever received an email from a relative of a deposed dictator trying to smuggle his fortune out of the country, or from Aunt Patricia claiming that the more people you forward it to the more money you'll make, then this entertaining talk by James Veitch is just for you.

D for Design,

Bored of ordinary TED talks and need something different? Don't worry, there's room for different kinds of speakers on the TED stage too: radio host Roman Mars talks to us about vexillology, the study of flags, and about city flags, which he thinks are generally badly designed.
