Cem Seymen

For Cem Seymen, journalism is, in his own words, “a great excitement blending passion and compassion.” Seymen has another passion, too: literature! He retook the university entrance exams and won a scholarship to study English Language and Literature at Beykent University. After 4 years he loved literature so much that he decided to do a master’s degree as well. He completed his master’s thesis, “Traces of Colonialism in the Novels of Joseph Conrad,” with the poet Cevat Çapan. Combining literature with economics, he turned numbers into stories in his own distinctive style. As a result, his human-focused programs came to be defined by courage, determination, resilience and perseverance. According to Cem Seymen, everything begins with imagining.
