Kadir Memiş

In 1993 we founded the Flying Steps b-boy crew. With this crew we won the world breakdance championship four times and received many awards. When we first started, everyone told us breakdance was nothing more than a low-quality street dance. They tried to rub it in our faces that we could never make a living doing it. But they were missing one thing: we hadn’t started this to make money. Ours was a passion, a great love. This culture, foreign to us, gave us new friends, a new family and, most importantly, an identity.
